The weekly Washington Square Music Festival trades in its classical compositions tonight for an evening jazz with the Charles Mingus Orchestra who'll perform pieces by their namesake. The Charles Mingus Big Band has long been one of my favorite hidden jems of the city so it's great to be able to see this 10-pieces variation for free in the park. All Ages.

... There are less produce stands (I actually can't recall a single produce stand I've seen. I haven't been back in about a month so it might have more now. I'll check it out and report back. But what they do have is lots of breads and meats from salmon, to trout, and other beef. Lots of plants for sale as well and music. The Mill City Farmers Market runs until October 18th on Saturdays from 8am-1pm.
